At the Circuit Meeting on Tuesday 20 June various ways forward for the Beverley Circuit were considered. A unanimous decision was reached for the Beverley Circuit to become a part of the new Yorkshire North and East Bridge Circuit, which is starting from September 2023. The Beverley Circuit will become a ‘mission area’ in this new circuit, for which initially the District Chair, Revd Leslie Newton will be the Superintendent. An Operations Manager has been hired to deal with many of the governance issues for the circuit. At present other mission areas in this ‘fresh expression of circuit’ are: Bridlington, Pateley Bridge, and Pocklington and Market Weighton. The goal of this new circuit is: To release as much time, energy and space as possible for local churches to flourish in their mission and ministry, by ensuring that all responsibilities of governance are performed excellently by the circuit.
Those present at the Circuit Meeting felt encouraged by the clarity and vision offered by this new circuit and look forward to Beverley being a part of it.
Please see attached papers for further questions and to the constitution of the new Bridge Circuit for those interested to find out more.
You will see that this is a combined July/August Bulletin. We are having a break from compiling and delivering. The September Bulletin will hopefully be out during the first week in September.
